It starts with you driving your vehicle down a road then all of a sudden youre in an alien ship.
It reminded me a little too much of the last software development job I quit though. Infinifactory comes wrapped in a surprisingly immersive world complete with an overwhelming dark sense of humour. Recommended for engineers or anyone else in a logic-focused profession who don't mind slamming their head against a wall for a while to solve a problem. You do get some new tools halfway through the game, but by that point you'll probably already have figured out a way to perform their same functions with the more rudimentary tools from earlier they're simply more compact. The final puzzle I think took me around 5 hours total, and wasn't really anything new, just a *really big* object to make with the same techniques used in prior levels. There's a certain satisfaction to see your factory running smoothly and cranking out finished work, but when you've worked forever and seen your solution get messier and messier until you've created a monster, that feeling gets kind of deflated. Puzzles got pretty big and complex relatively quickly and I no longer felt the urge to redo them ever again. Early on it was fun to try doing the levels over again a bit differently, or trying to do it the most optimized way for the 3 categories the levels score you on.īy the end though it felt kind of closer to work than anything else.
